If your child's school uses pickup security, your parent portal has a section called Who can collect your child.
Give their full name, their relationship to your child, the ID they will show at the gate and its number, and a phone number. A vehicle registration is optional.
The ID number matters most. It is what the school physically checks before handing your child over. Without it, staff have only a name to go on.
You can authorise up to 12 people per child. Anyone on the list may collect your child.
Every time someone comes for your child, you get an email (and an SMS if the school sends them) naming who has turned up, with a link to stop that collection. If you were expecting them, do nothing: staff will check their ID and release your child.
If you tap stop, the school cannot release your child to that person. In an emergency, call the school as well: a phone call is faster than an email.
Tick Ask me every time on anyone you want a closer eye on, for example an occasional driver. Staff cannot then release your child to them without writing down a reason, which you and the school both see afterwards. It does not hold your child at the gate: to block one collection outright, use the stop link in the alert, or phone the school.
Press Edit next to their name to correct or update the same details you gave when adding them: name, relationship, ID and its number, phone, vehicle, and Ask me every time. The change applies at the gate straight away. If a different person will be coming, remove the old entry and add the new person instead of renaming it, so the collection history keeps naming who really came.
Press Remove. It takes effect immediately, so someone removed at 2:59 cannot collect at 3:00. Their name stays in your child's collection history so you can always see who actually collected your child and when.
Adding someone to this list is your permission. There is no separate approval step to complete, which is why keeping the list current matters.
