We spent this term on one idea: the fewer things that can only be done by one person, the smoother a school runs. Here is what landed.
1. Custom roles you define
Access is no longer all-or-nothing. Build your own staff roles from a capability picker, or start from a ready-made template (Head, Bursar, Front desk, House master, or a read-only CEO), and assign one or more to each person. A member sees exactly what their roles allow, and the sidebar, search and New menu quietly reshape to match.
2. Delegate the work that was owner-only
Two big jobs opened up to your team. A role can now let a trusted member review admissions and issue admission letters, and another can let a head set up classes, subjects and assessment systems, all without making anyone an owner, and all recorded under your name. Mark a role read-only to give a proprietor or board oversight with no risk of an accidental change.
3. iLex+, granted per person
When your school has the iLex+ AI assistant, you now decide who uses it. A simple switch on the Team tab turns it on or off for each member, so your monthly AI allowance goes to the people who need it. You always have access.
4. Faster fees, instant receipts
Collecting fees got quicker at the desk, and a receipt now reaches the parent the way that suits them: printed on a small thermal printer, sent on WhatsApp, or emailed, in seconds.
5. An online results checker
Parents and pupils can look up results online with a code, no login needed, and you can share a pupil's progress during the term, not just at the end. Fewer trips to the office, calmer report days.
6. AI report remarks and a shared calendar
Draft warm, specific report-card remarks with a tap and edit them to taste, and publish one school calendar that your team sees in the app and parents see on the portal.
