The parent portal, explained

The parent portal is a lightweight area, separate from the staff app, where parents keep up with their children. It is free and needs no password.

Signing in with a magic link

When your school invites a parent, they receive an email with a secure link. Clicking it signs them in with a one-time magic link: no password to set, none to remember. From there they land on their own dashboard.

A parent can also start the process themselves at the parent request page: they type the email address you registered for them and receive a fresh sign-in link. There is nothing for you to reset or manage on either side.

What a parent can see

Inside the portal, a parent can download their child's report cards and fee bills as PDFs. Where the school has enabled online payments, they can tap Pay now to pay by card or mobile money, with receipts recording themselves.

A parent with several children at the school sees all of them under one sign-in, as long as each child's parent email is verified on the student record. Only students whose email matches the verified address on the link are shown, so a parent never sees another family's data.

Requesting an absence

Parents can request an upcoming absence from the portal. iEasySR emails a confirmation when they submit it, and again when the school approves or declines it, with any note the school adds. The current status is always visible in the portal, so nobody is left guessing.

The verification rule

Access depends on the parent email being verified on the student record. If it is still unverified, the parent sees a message that no verified students are linked, even with a valid link. Re-trigger verification from the student's edit page, and once the parent clicks the one-time code, the portal opens.

Where a parent's phone number is on file, they may also receive SMS reminders and absence alerts.
