Finance & accounting

The optional double-entry finance module: how the chart of accounts, automatic posting, the ledger, statements and forecasting fit together.

Unlock the module

Finance & Accounting is an optional module, unlocked per school with a one-time payment or a licence code. Once unlocked, the finance area opens under Finance in the app.

Choose your chart of accounts

The first time you open Finance you choose your chart of accounts: the standard (IFRS-style) chart, or the SYSCOHADA (OHADA) chart for francophone schools. This is a one-time choice that sets the school's accounting standard, and your books can never mix two standards.

Both charts ship expert-designed, with 70+ ready accounts covering the revenue a school earns, its expenses, assets, liabilities and equity, and only add codes you don't already have, so you can reload to top up with the newest accounts. Rename, add or deactivate accounts to fit your school.

Automatic posting

Auto-posting mappings (Finance, then Accounts) wire fees, service income, payroll and vendor bills to the right accounts, so day-to-day activity keeps the ledger current without hand-written journals.

When statutory payroll is enabled, a payroll run splits its deductions across dedicated liability accounts (income tax withheld, social security, staff welfare) with the employer share posted separately.

Journals, ledger and trial balance

Every entry is double-entry, so debits equal credits and the trial balance (balance générale) always balances. You get journals, a detailed general ledger, account schedules by type and an accounts-payable aging report, all printable. Foreign currency and period close are supported.

Financial statements

One click produces the statements. On the standard chart: an income statement, a balance sheet, a cash-flow statement and a trial balance.

On the OHADA chart: a Compte de résultat with the full SIG cascade (marge commerciale, valeur ajoutée, EBE, résultat d'exploitation, financier, net), a Bilan (actif / passif), a Tableau des flux de trésorerie (TFT, the revised-SYSCOHADA cash-flow statement grouped by operating, investing and financing activities and reconciled to the change in cash), and notes annexes.

These are management-grade statements: have a qualified accountant (expert-comptable) review the chart and statements before any official filing.

Budgets and cash-flow forecast

Beyond the statements, Finance includes budget-vs-actuals and a 13-week cash-flow forecast, so you can plan against your real ledger rather than a spreadsheet.
